Ciao, travelers! I’m Rileigh, the owner of Travel Mellow, and I’m thrilled to share my personalized 13-day itinerary for exploring the enchanting city of Venice during the summer. Having lived in Italy for two years, I’ve gained a deep appreciation for the country’s rich culture, history, and cuisine. This itinerary is designed to help you experience the authentic side of Venice, away from the typical tourist traps, and immerse yourself in the local way of life.

Day 1: Exploring the Heart of Venice

Kick off your Venetian adventure by visiting the iconic St. Mark’s Square, where you’ll be mesmerized by the grandeur of St. Mark’s Basilica and the stunning architecture of the Doge’s Palace. After marveling at these iconic landmarks, indulge in a quintessential Venetian experience – a gondola ride through the city’s picturesque canals. End your day by strolling across the famous Rialto Bridge and grabbing a bite at Osteria alle Testiere, a cozy bacaro (wine bar) serving delicious cicchetti (Venetian tapas) and local wines.

Day 2: Exploring the Venetian Islands

Today, you’ll venture beyond the main islands of Venice and discover the unique charm of Murano and Burano. In Murano, witness the age-old tradition of glass blowing and marvel at the intricate artistry of the local glassmakers. Then, hop over to Burano, famous for its vibrant, colorful houses and exquisite lace-making. I recommend trying the delectable seafood dishes at Trattoria da Luca e Fred for lunch.
