Ciao, travelers! I’m Rileigh, the owner of Travel Mellow and your friendly guide for this 2-day summer adventure in the stunning coastal town of Sorrento, Italy. Having lived in Italy for two years, I’m excited to share my insider tips and help you experience the authentic charm of this region, beyond the typical tourist traps.

Day 1: Exploring Sorrento and the Island of Capri

Start your day by wandering through the picturesque streets and piazzas of Sorrento, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere and colorful buildings. Be sure to visit the Duomo di Sorrento, a beautiful cathedral dating back to the 15th century, and the Sedil Dominova, a historic meeting place for the town’s nobility. For lunch, I recommend L’Antica Trattoria for delicious traditional Sorrento cuisine.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat tour to the enchanting Island of Capri. Admire the stunning cliffside villas, explore the charming towns, and take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the famous Blue Grotto, a mesmerizing sea cave illuminated by a brilliant blue glow.

As the sun sets, head back to Sorrento and enjoy an aperitivo at Fauno Bar, a lively spot perfect for people-watching and sipping on refreshing cocktails or local wines.

Day 2: Discovering the Amalfi Coast

Today, embark on a day trip to the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its dramatic cliffside towns and stunning coastal scenery. Start your journey in the picturesque town of Positano, where you can wander through the narrow streets, admire the colorful houses, and perhaps indulge in a fresh seafood lunch at Da Costantino.

Next, continue to the town of Amalfi, where you can visit the impressive Duomo di Amalfi and explore the charming piazzas. For a truly unforgettable experience, I highly recommend hiking a portion of the Path of the Gods, a scenic trail offering panoramic views of the coastline and the Mediterranean Sea.

On your way back to Sorrento, make a stop at a local limoncello factory for a tasting of this iconic Italian lemon liqueur. End your day with a delicious Neapolitan pizza at Don Geppi, a beloved local spot known for their authentic pies.
