Ciao, travelers! I’m Rileigh, the owner of Travel Mellow and a former resident of Italy. I’m excited to share with you a personalized 2-day itinerary for exploring the charming coastal town of Sorrento during the winter season. Drawing from my experiences living in Italy, I’ve crafted an authentic itinerary that will help you avoid tourist traps and experience the true essence of this beautiful destination.

Day 1: Exploring the Enchanting Streets of Sorrento

Start your day by wandering through the picturesque streets and piazzas of Sorrento’s historic center. I recommend visiting the Duomo di Sorrento, a stunning cathedral with a beautiful baroque interior, and the Sedil Dominova, a historic meeting place for the town’s nobility. After exploring the town’s architectural gems, take a leisurely stroll along the Marina Piccola and soak in the breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples. Don’t forget to stop and browse the local shops for unique handicrafts and souvenirs to take home.

For lunch, I suggest trying the delicious Sorrentine cuisine at L’Antica Trattoria, a cozy restaurant serving traditional dishes like gnocchi alla sorrentina and fresh seafood. In the evening, head to Il Buco for some of the best pizza in town, or enjoy aperitivo and cocktails with a stunning view at Fauno Bar.

Day 2: Exploring the Amalfi Coast and Local Limoncello

On your second day, I highly recommend taking a day trip to the iconic Amalfi Coast. Visit the picturesque towns of Positano and Amalfi, where you can wander through narrow streets, admire colorful houses clinging to the cliffs, and indulge in delicious seafood dishes. For those feeling adventurous, embark on the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods), a breathtaking hike offering panoramic views of the coastline.

Before returning to Sorrento, make a stop at a local limoncello factory for a tasting of this famous Italian lemon liqueur. You’ll learn about the production process and have the opportunity to purchase some authentic limoncello to take home.
